Message from your teacher.

Another day gone by, another month, another year...As times passes us by we can’t help the feeling of losing someone...But they are not lost, oh no! Not at all! They are now finding themselves. A new adventure will begin and for those who stood by them for the past years the memories will remain indelible...
Farewell and good luck, seniors, fourth graders, pupils, whatever you want to call them... – they will forever remain in my heart – my friends!

This past month we were extremely busy so we took every spare time we could find to reflect on the work developed throughout the year. We all agreed on one thing. It was great!!

A Flea Market came to School

Hello! This week we were surprised by a strange character selling all types of clothes. We learned the names of several clothing items as well as the seasons we are supposed to wear them.
Finally we dressed up for a funny fashion show.

Interactive word searches

Hello!
Filipe shared with me a cool alternative to photocopied crossword puzzles / word search worksheets regarding the theme “Family”.
It is environment friendly and appealing to the pupils.
It is an interactive word search puzzle and once you finish you can “rescramble” the letters and do it all over again.
I chose to have the 4th Grade pupils work in pairs to strengthen team work
If you want to try it out just click on the post’s title.

We chose pig and cat masks, as well as clown masks.
It was lots of fun!!

Carnival Celebration at Escola do Faial

Hello there!
For this year’s Carnival we chose “Food from our Region” as the theme. So we dressed up as fruit and vegetables. Not only was it fun but also educational since we learned the names of some vegetables and fruit.
We went on a parade trough the main streets of Faial and everybody had a great time

Valentine's Day

As it is traditional, this year we also had our Valentine’s Day Box here at Faial. The pupils, teachers and staff left their messages which were handed out Friday the 13th.
